Course Dates: Fridays, May 22nd – June 26th

Times: 6 pm – 9 pm

Fee: £270

In this course students will first be introduced to the materials and their uses. After which they will be shown painting techniques in the Iznik and geometric style and start to design their own works for the class. Then they transfer their chosen design onto a ceramic surface. This will take the bulk of the term and at the end the students will be firing their works which they can claim as their own impressions of the Iznik style.

All levels of ability and experience welcome.

The fee includes all necessary materials. In addition to course fee, £2.50 will be charged for glazing and firing per piece.

There will be one glazing day per term and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that pieces won’t be damaged in the kiln or survive the firing.

Sibel Pekgoz

Sibel Pekgoz graduated from Gazi University in Ankara after studying Fine Arts. She worked for 12 years in the field of Ceramics and Glass Technology at Ankara Technical Institute. She exhibited ceramic and tile works on many themed projects and exhibitions. At the Ankara Technical Institute , she started working on glass bead and glass fusion by establishing the "Decorative Glass Workshop". In October of 2016 she moved to London. Here she makes traditional marbling art in her leisure time and works on individual tiles in the "Fired Treasures" ceramic studio. This year she is starting ceramics course programs with the Yunus Emre Institute in London.
