This ONLINE 4-week course by artist Nagihan Seymour will cover Ottoman tradition ‘Rumi’ patterns. The course starts with an overview of the history of “Rumi” (“Rumi” in Turkish, “Islimi” in Persian, “Nebati” in Arabic). Students will learn how to draw rumi motifs and apply principles of design in a composition. They will draw and paint different rumi motifs such as basic rumi, closed form rumi, rumi knots and rumi headings in classic Tezhip “Shamsa” form.

- Watercolour Paper (300gsm)
- A4 Paper
- Tracing paper
- Mechanical Pencil
- A ruler
- Eraser
- Palette
- Gouache Paint (White, Black, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue)
- 3-0, 2-0 Paint Brush
