Workshop Overview
Discover the Beauty of Traditional Turkish Miniature Art with Sema Yurtseven!
This 2.5-hour workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the delicate and detailed art form, allowing you to create your own masterpiece. Learn about the rich history and techniques of this traditional art form, a genre of Ottoman painting known for its vivid colors and intricate details, often used to illustrate manuscripts. Choose from three beautiful designs—an elegant horse or the picturesque Arnavutkoy Mansions in Istanbul—and bring it to life on a 10 x 15 cm postcard. Sema Yurtseven will guide you through the process, from transferring your chosen design onto the postcard using carbon paper to adding your personal touch with colours.
Assessment / Outcome
Participants will complete a postcard during the workshop to keep as a unique memento or give as a special gift to a loved one.
Methods of Teaching
The workshop will employ a combination of live demonstrations, hands-on practice, and personalized guidance to ensure an engaging and comprehensive learning experience. Sema Yurtseven will perform detailed demonstrations of each step, followed by hands-on practice where participants can work on their own projects with her support.
