Neys will be provided for those beginners who do not have an instrument. The instructor will also bring Neys in the same pitch for intermediate and advanced levels students to avoid discordant Neys playing together. \nThis warm event can be a great motivation for those who learn Ney alone or through online classes\, or who wants to start playing this magical flute. If you ever wished to try the Ney or need help to improve your skill\, this workshop is for you. \nAlso\, there will be special discounts for those who buy a Ney either at the concert during the workshop. There will be a 25% discount for the general public and a 50% discount for our current NEY course students.Following the workshop\, “A Midsummer Night’s Recital: Ney & Bendir” will take place between 5 -6 pm\, exclusively available at no charge to workshop attendees! This unique musical event promises to be a feast for the senses and will take place on the 27th of July 2024\, starting at 6 PM. \nThe recital will feature the Ney\, a traditional instrument that is the heart and soul of Sufi music. The Ney’s hauntingly beautiful sound has the power to transport listeners to another realm\, making them feel as if they are on a spiritual journey. \nMurat Ferhat Yegül’s deep understanding of the Ney and his ability to bring out its rich\, melodic tones make his performances a must-see for any music lover. The performance will begin with a Ney Taksim\, a traditional solo improvisation that sets the mood for the Mevlevi Ayin\, a Sufi ceremony. This will be followed by a selection of pieces that showcase Ney’s versatility and the depth of Sufi music. Khaled Hakim will accompany on the Bendir\, adding a rhythmic layer to the melodic flow of the Ney. \nThis midsummer night’s dream will be like a voyage in Sufi waters\, offering music that is as dreamlike as it is profound.
