DESCRIPTION:[vc_btn title=”Click Here to Register” color=”success” size=”lg” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fyeelondon.org.uk%2Fcourses%2Fcalligraphyworkshop-for-children%2F|title:Click%20Here%20to%20Register|target:_blank”] \nChildren’s Calligraphy Workshop \nDate: Tuesday\, 30 July 2024\nTime: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM\nDuration: 1 hour and 30 minutes\nCost:  £30 for one child with one accompanying adult \nClass Size: Min. 5 – Max.15 Students\nInstructor: Gulnaz Mahboob\nLocation: 10 Maple Street W1T 5HA (Nearest tube stations: Warren Street and Goodge Street)  \nEntry Requirements  \nChildren must be between 7-12 years old to attend the course. \nThis workshop is designed for children (ages 7–12) and adults to participate in together. \nNo experience or skills are required\, only a sense of wonder and creativity.  \nStudents are required to complete the form to register successfully. \nWorkshop Overview\nExplore the elegance of Ottoman calligraphy with expert guidance from Gulnaz Mahboob! \nChildren will learn the Ottoman Rika (Riqa) Script\, use traditional calligraphy tools\, including a qalam (reed pen) and ink and explore the art’s historical significance. By the end of the course\, participants will be able to write letters with correct technique\, understand script proportions\, and create a personalized artwork. Our instructor\, Gulnaz Mahboob\, trained by the esteemed Hüsn-i hat master (Reisü’l-Hattatin) Hasan Çelebi\, is a true expert in Ottoman calligraphy. She will guide you through each step\, sharing her knowledge and passion for this ancient art. \nRequired Equipment & Materials  \nAll materials will be provided by the Institute.  \nDisclaimer   \nThe workshop is taught in English\, but some terminology used may be in Turkish. \nAs this is a craft workshop\, the children might be using scissors etc and it is the responsibility of the accompanying adults to ensure that the scissors are being used safely. \nAll crafts and activities should be supervised by an adult. \nWe recommend you wear comfortable clothes. \nIt is recommended to always take safety precautions when performing crafts and activities. \nDue to the risk of allergens\, we will not be providing any food or snacks during the workshop. We advise that parents bring their own food for their kids. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. \nPlease note filming and photography will be taking place throughout this event\, and may be used for promotional and archival purposes.
