SUMMARY:Hear it Live! Ozan Baysal at the Horniman Museum
DESCRIPTION:Hear it Live! – Ozan Baysal at the Horniman Museum\nAs part of the Hear it Live! series at the Horniman Museum\, audiences are invited to experience live performances and short talks inspired by the diversity of the museum’s musical instrument collection. \nOn 12 March\, Turkish bağlama player\, composer and performer Ozan Baysal will present a special performance exploring the expressive possibilities of the instrument. Known for his distinctive şelpe technique and for performing on a custom double-necked bağlama\, Baysal blends traditional Anatolian sounds with contemporary tonal and jazz influences. \nExperience the artistry of Ozan Baysal\, a master of the bağlama (saz) and a specialist in the intricate şelpe technique—a traditional finger-plucking style played without a plectrum. Performing on a custom double-necked bağlama\, Ozan creates a bridge between worlds\, seamlessly integrating traditional folk roots with contemporary harmonic exploration. \nYunus Emre Enstitüsü – London serves as a cornerstone of cultural engagement in the heart of the UK. We are dedicated to bringing the richness of Türkiye’s traditional and contemporary arts to life. Through our diverse array of programs\, exhibitions\, and performances\, we provide a space where heritage meets modern creativity. \nEvent Details \n📅 12 March⏰ 3:30–4:00 pm📍 Horniman Museum – Music Gallery🎟 Free admission \nThis event is free to attend and no booking is required.
