SUMMARY:Young Scholar: Small Molecule Tools for Inflammasome Signaling
DESCRIPTION:[vc_btn title=”Click Here to Register” color=”sky” size=”lg” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2FAdaLiebenau.eventbrite.co.uk|title:Click%20Here%20to%20Register|target:_blank”] \nYunus Emre Institute London is delighted to announce its upcoming Young Scholar Seminar Series talk: “Development of Small Molecule Tools to Study Inflammasome Signaling\,” by Ada H. Liebenau. The talk will take place on Thursday\, January 30\, 2025\, at 7 pm UK time. \nDate: Thursday 30th January 2025\nTime: 7 pm\nVenue: Yunus Emre Institute London\, 10 Maple Street\, London\, W1T 5HA \nTraditional Turkish Refreshments will be served. \nDevelopment of Small Molecule Tools to Study Inflammasome Signaling \nIn this talk\, Ada will discuss how inflammation plays a crucial role in how our bodies heal and protect themselves\, but when it goes awry\, it can lead to serious diseases. Ada will share her exciting research on inflammasomes—key players in the body’s inflammatory response—and explain how small molecule tools can help us better understand and control them. This work holds the potential to unlock new treatments for diseases like Alzheimer’s\, sepsis\, and arthritis. \nDon’t miss the chance to learn more about this cutting-edge research and its potential to change the way we approach inflammatory diseases! \nAda H. Liebenau is finishing her PhD in Bioscience at the University of Oxford. Her research focus is on developing treatments for inflammatory disorders such as COVID-19\, sepsis\, Alzheimer’s\, psoriasis\, and arthritis. Ada did her undergraduate and master’s degree at University College London (UCL) in Chemistry\, focusing on drug delivery to brain cancer. After graduating in 2020\, she worked at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research on drug design for COVID-19. Ada’s current research straddles the fields of medicinal chemistry and the biology of inflammatory conditions. She is highly interdisciplinary working between the Chemistry Department and The Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. \nAdmission is FREE but registration is ESSENTIAL. \nThis talk forms part of the Young Scholar Seminar Series organised by Yunus Emre Institute London. \nFor more information on the event\, please email us at londra@yee.org.tr \nIMPORTANT NOTES \nPlease note that this event is first come first served and may be overbooked.
