This FACE-to-FACE 8-week course will cover Ottoman tradition ‘Tezhip’ patterns by artist Nagihan Seymour. This interactive course will start with an overview of the history and origins of the art. Then, they will learn traditional floral motifs (hatai, gonca, penc etc) and geometric patterns as well as how to decorate the border of Islamic manuscripts. Students will be able to create their own composition and finish it using traditional painting outlining and illumination brush techniques.

Students will receive hand-outs, weekly homework, and feedbacks throughout the duration of the course to track improvement.

Required Materials (All other materials will be provided by the Institute: Mechanical Pencil 0.5, Eraser, 000 and 0 Paint Brush (Recommended brushes Winsor & Newton 7 Series OR Cotman )

A digital certificate of attendance or completion certificate will be issued at the end of the course.
