Yunus Emre Enstitüsü –London held an art exhibition in colloboration with University of Arts London.
The exhibition aimed to contribute to the cross-cultural interaction with the participation of international students from Turkey, China, Japan, Brazil, Canada, India, Pakistan, Morocco, the Unıted States and the United Kingdom who came to London to study art.
The opening night of the exhibition, “Artopia” showcased the artworks of international students which had all unique themes and techniques.
Bringing the artists and art lovers from all around the world together, the exhibition also targets to draw attention to the international perspectives of Turkey.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition started with the welcoming speech of Ahenk Dereli, Counsellor at Turkish Embassy in London and the course leader of UAL MA painting department, Geraint Evans.
UAL is also contributing to the exhibition with holding a seminar on “curation of an exhibition space”.
Evans, also a senior lecturer at UAL shared his experience with the students on “how to curate an art exhibiton: strenghts and weaknesses of the current assets”.
The group show being exhibited at the hall of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü-London is open to public visits between 11th and 18th January.
