This IN PERSON workshop will give you a brief introduction to the ‘Ney’ Instrument – one of the main instrument of Ottoman Court /Turkish Classical Music or a chance to enhance your skills with it.
The introductory workshop will be held face-to-face with Ney player Murat Ferhat Yegül at the Institute. Neys will be provided for those beginners who do not have an instrument. The instructor will also bring Neys in same pitch for intermediate and advanced levels students to avoid discordant Neys playing together.
This warm event can be a great motivation for those who learn Ney alone or through online classes, or who wants to start playing this magical flute. If you ever wished to try the Ney or need help to improve your skill, this worksop is for you.
