Hiç: In Pursuit of Nothingness Exhibition

A spiritual journey exploring the Sufi concept of “hiç” through art.

Hiç: In Pursuit of Nothingness explored the Sufi concept of hiç — meaning “nothingness” — through calligraphy, illumination, and ceramic art. Curated by UK-based artist Nagihan Seymour, the exhibition offered a spiritual and aesthetic journey that bridges traditional Turkish art and contemporary expression.

Rooted in the philosophy of transcending the self to achieve harmony with the whole, hiç invited visitors to reflect on mindfulness, ego, and existence in the modern world.

Featuring works by Adam Duchy, Ayesha Ahmed, Başak Türken, Gulnaz Mahboob, Hanifi Dursun, Nagihan Seymour (Curator), Naoki Yamamoto, Osman Yılmazer, Rizwan Khan, Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, Samar Farooq, Sevil Tezgah, Sevim Çakır, Serdar Türken, Soraya Syed, and Yılmaz Turan, the exhibition created a meaningful communication between cultures, traditions, and inner contemplation.

Alongside the display, audiences took part in talks, workshops, and guided tours for a deeper experience.
