An exclusive and intimate screening of The Silent Route, a stunning animated short film by Merve Cirisoglu, followed by a Q&A session with the director herself.

The Silent Route is a poignant and powerful story of a young woman, with a newborn and three elderly relatives, who faces obstacles at the border in wartime. Their ox-cart gets stuck near a security post, and while their minds are obsessed with the possibility of being apprehended by the enemy, the magic of humanity brings out something unexpected.

The film is a masterpiece of animation, with beautiful visuals, expressive characters, and a captivating soundtrack. It is written, directed, produced and animated by Merve Cirisoglu, based on an original story by Faisal Hossain. It has a duration of 8:30 mins and belongs to the genre of animation.

The event will start with an introduction and welcome, followed by a private screening of The Silent Route, the stunning animated short film by Merve Cirisoglu. After the screening, the director will share the background stories and the creative process of the film. Then, the programme will be followed by a Q&A session with the director. Turkish refreshments will be served at the end of the event.

Merve Cirisoglu has been creating projects from concept to completion, managing creative projects, budgets, and leading teams of global creatives for over 7 years. Her animations have been screened at over 250 international film festivals, winning 45 prizes, broadcast on TV channels and streaming platforms, and have amassed more than 35 million views on social media. Recognized by the United Nations, she was invited as a top filmmaker to present her movie about the story of refugee children at the UN Headquarters. She shared the background stories of her animated shorts on the TEDx stage and at several film festivals in the UK, Greece, Pakistan, Georgia, Turkey, and Spain. Her projects span multiple pipelines and genres, ranging from 2D original animated shows to digital stop-motion commercials, frame-by-frame touching short films, educational pieces, creative music videos, and bespoke branded content.
