Celebrating Türkiye’s Rich Heritage: ‘Türkiye Century’ Exhibition and Turkish Culture Night at Trafalgar Square Yunus Emre InstituteDecember 31, 2024January 2, 2025 News What a remarkable day it turned out to be on 8 April! We were proud to have organised the “Türkiye Century” exhibition in collaboration with the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications. The exhibition, which is open until April 30th, offers a captivating exploration of Türkiye’s natural wonders and historical treasures, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to delve into the country’s rich heritage. In addition to the exhibition, we contributed to a memorable Open Iftar event themed “Turkish Culture Night” as part of the Ramadan Tent Project at Trafalgar Square. The evening celebrated Türkiye’s cultural richness, featuring soul-stirring performances by Turkish musicians Umut Ekiz, Muammer Sağlam, and Mustafa Sahin who enchanted the audience with renditions of Yunus Emre hymns. As participants broke their fast, the call to prayer by Turkish Imam Mustafa Şahin echoed through Trafalgar Square from the Cambridge Mosque, while they enjoyed delicious Turkish cuisine prepared by Chef Ali Açıkgül during iftar.
