The screening of “The Silent Route,” a stunning animated short film by the talented and awarded director, Merve Cirisoglu, was supported by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London as part of the 6th edition of In Short, Europe: Best of Best 2024, London Edition.
The festival, a diverse and exciting celebration of European short filmmaking, took place once again at Ciné Lumière, Institut français London on 26th and 28th April. This year’s edition, Best of Best, featured award-winning short films from 28 European countries, traveling across Europe from Ukraine to Scotland, taking in countries as varied as the Faroe Islands, Flanders, and Belgium’s Wallonia Brussels.
“The Silent Route” was an emotionally gripping animated short that told a poignant and powerful story of a young woman facing obstacles at the border in wartime. The film was praised for its beautiful visuals, expressive characters, and captivating soundtrack. It was a masterpiece of animation, written, directed, produced, and animated by Merve Cirisoglu, based on an original story by Faisal Hossain.
