Eid on the Square returned to Trafalgar Square on Sunday, 8 June, from 12pm to 6pm, inviting Londoners to celebrate Eid al-Adha in the heart of the capital. This free, family-friendly festival was presented by the Mayor of London and developed in close collaboration with Muslim communities across the city.
Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London was present at the event, supporting the celebrations and engaging with visitors as part of the festival’s diverse cultural programme.
Festival-goers were encouraged to visit the Creative Arts Family Zone, where a lively schedule of workshops brought people of all ages together. Activities included energetic drumming sessions, collaborative poetry creation, Arabic calligraphy, and traditional coconut-leaf weaving.
Attendees also had the chance to create henna-inspired designs and connect with others through art, storytelling, and rhythm. The space was designed to be welcoming and inclusive, where creativity and culture came alive in celebration of Eid.
Whether part of London’s Muslim communities or curious visitors eager to learn, Eid on the Square offered an opportunity for everyone to join in the spirit of community, creativity, and joy.
The Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London team expressed their delight in being part of this vibrant gathering, reinforcing their commitment to fostering cultural understanding and connection through such events.
