Yunus Emre Institute15 Temmuz Demokrasi ve Millî Birlik Günü, Birleşik Krallık’ta düzenlenen anlamlı bir etkinlikle anıldı. Londra Büyükelçiliği himayesinde, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü’nün ev sahipliğinde, Eğitim Müşavirliği, Uluslararası Demokratlar Birliği (UID) ve Britanya Türk Dernekleri Birliği (BTA) iş birliğiyle gerçekleşen programa protokol üyeleri, aileler, öğretmenler ve çok sayıda vatandaş katıldı.
Etkinliğin bu yılki en dikkat çekici yanı ise, Birleşik Krallık’taki Türk okullarında eğitim gören çocukların hazırladığı 25 eserin yer aldığı özel sergi oldu.
“15 Temmuz Millî Birlik ve Demokrasi Günü Resim Sergisi”, minik sanatçıların gözünden millî irade, demokrasi ve özgürlük temalarını yansıtan eserlerle duygusal anlara sahne oldu.

Geleceğimizin Teminatı Çocuklar, Sanatla Konuştu
Çocukların kaleminden, fırçasından ve hayal gücünden çıkan bu özel çalışmalar, 15 Temmuz’un taşıdığı anlamı yeni nesillerin gözünden aktarıyor. Sergi, sadece geçmişi değil; aynı zamanda bugünü ve geleceği kuşatan bilinçli bir bakışın ürünü olarak değerlendirildi.
Açılış konuşmalarında, 15 Temmuz’un Türk milletinin bağımsızlık, demokrasi ve vatan sevgisi uğruna verdiği destansı mücadeleyi simgelediği vurgulandı. O gece yaşananların yalnızca bir direniş değil, aynı zamanda bir diriliş ve toplumsal kenetlenme örneği olduğu dile getirildi.

Kur’an Tilaveti ve Protokol Konuşmaları
Program, şehitler anısına yapılan bir dakikalık saygı duruşu ve ardından okunan İstiklal Marşı ile başladı. Sonrasında Milli Görüş İngiltere imamlarından Hafız Murat Küçük’ün Kur’an-ı Kerim tilaveti, salonda manevi bir atmosfer oluşturdu.

Sanatla Hafıza, Sanatla Umut
Sergi, çocukların sanatı bir anlatım aracı olarak ne denli güçlü kullanabildiğini ortaya koyarken, aynı zamanda toplumsal hafızayı canlı tutma ve ortak değerleri yaşatma çabasının da etkileyici bir örneğini sundu.
Katılımcılar, çocukların çizdiği resimlerle 15 Temmuz ruhunu yeniden hissettiklerini belirtti. Etkinlik sonunda, programa katkı sunan öğrencilere, öğretmenlere ve ailelerine içten teşekkürler sunuldu.
Program, birlik ve beraberlik mesajlarıyla sona erdi.
Held under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy in London and hosted by the Yunus Emre Institute, the program was organized in cooperation with the Education Counsellor’s Office, the Union of International Democrats (UID), and the British Turkish Associations Union (BTA). Protocol members, families, teachers, and many citizens attended the event.
One of the most striking aspects of this year’s event was a special exhibition featuring 25 works prepared by children studying at Turkish schools in the United Kingdom.
The “July 15 National Unity and Democracy Day Art Exhibition” created emotional moments with artworks reflecting themes of national will, democracy, and freedom through the eyes of young artists.
Children—Our Future—Expressed Themselves Through Art
These special works, born from the pens, brushes, and imaginations of children, conveyed the meaning of July 15 from the perspective of the new generation. The exhibition was seen not only as a reflection of the past, but also as a product of a conscious outlook embracing the present and the future.
In the opening speeches, it was emphasized that July 15 symbolizes the epic struggle of the Turkish nation for independence, democracy, and love of homeland. It was stated that what happened that night was not only a resistance, but also a rebirth and an example of societal unity.
Recitation of the Qur’an and Protocol Speeches
The program began with a one-minute moment of silence in memory of the martyrs, followed by the National Anthem. Afterwards, a Qur’an recitation by Hafiz Murat Küçük, one of the imams of Milli Görüş UK, created a spiritual atmosphere in the hall.
Memory Through Art, Hope Through Art
The exhibition demonstrated how powerfully children can use art as a means of expression, while also serving as an impressive example of efforts to keep collective memory alive and preserve shared values.
Participants expressed that they once again felt the spirit of July 15 through the children’s drawings. At the end of the event, heartfelt thanks were extended to the students, teachers, and families who contributed.
The program concluded with messages of unity and solidarity.
