Organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London, the 7th Annual Turkish Community Art Exhibition opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, 19th March 2025!

The exhibition opened to the public on the 19th of March, will be available for viewing until the 19th of April 2025, during working hours from 10 AM to 6 PM, at Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London.

The exhibition served as a platform to celebrate the diverse and talented artists within our community in the United Kingdom. Since its inception in 2019, the exhibition has showcased hundreds of original and exceptional works from artists of all abilities and mediums. The 2025 edition displayed a wide range of artistic expressions, from traditional arts to digital art, photography, and handcraft projects.

The exhibition was curated by a distinguished jury of four members: Director of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London Dr Mehmet Karakuş, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in London Pınar Koç, Artist Nilay İşlek, Artist Nagihan Seymour and Artist Ali Haydar Yeşilyurt.  This year, the exhibition received 110 applications from 55 artists and selected 49 unique artworks from 38 artists. They evaluated the artworks based on their originality, creativity, technique, and expression. 

The selected artists for this year’s exhibition include Abdullah Yusuf (Gyula Bela Lunczner), Alev Jamal, Alisher Ilkhamov, Alona Erikson, Aylya Ahmedova, Burçak Kafadar, Can Efe Özcan, Demet Nell, Demet Tokbay, Eda Coşkun, Eda Özlem Sipahioğlu Diler, Emine Sinici, Esma Hidayet Lüleci, Fatma Inova Kochan, Ferhat Koyun, Ganim Donmez, Gita Serin, Gültekin Uzuner, Hanife Yusuf Kiatip, Hilal Argun, Hümeyra Korkmaz, Kemal Şahin, Kübra Topal, Kübra Yıldırım, Meral Komanova, Mine Bayar, Müberra Bülbül, Nurcan Erkoçak Yasin, Nurdan Kocasoy, Safiyye Sultan Yay, Saime Munir, Serkan Deniz, Serpil Eryalçın, Şerife Orak, Sevda Uykan, Sevim Çakır, Yasemin Doğantan Dack and Yasemin Öztürk. 

The opening ceremony was attended by artists, art-lovers, diplomats, journalists, and academics. Each artist received a certificate of participation from the jury. The lively atmosphere was complemented by a selection of Turkish cuisine, fostering friendly conversations and enhancing the cultural experience.

The exhibition was put together by the team at Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London, consisting of project coordinator Ayşe Gökçen Yücel; project assistants Ayşe Kaya, Şehribanu Turan; administrator Gülsüm Altınbaş, Merve Zorpineci Özcan; facility & installation staff Sevim Hacıöztürk Çakır and facility & technical staff Sevim Hacıöztürk Çakır.
