Workshop Overview

Discover the Beauty of Traditional Turkish Miniature Art with Zaliha Peçe!

In the rich history of art, the Tree of Life and bird motifs hold a significant place, and within the context of Turkish arts, they carry special and profound meaning. These two symbols are frequently found in the material culture of Turkish art, both individually and together. In this workshop, participants will explore the creation of a miniature design that brings together the bird motif—used as a symbol of the spirit in Turkish miniature art—with the Tree of Life.

Throughout the workshop, master artist Zaliha Peçe will guide participants through the step-by-step process of miniature art, offering hands-on instruction in creating their own pieces. In addition to traditional techniques such as tarama (sweeping) and noktalama (stippling), participants will also gain insight into contemporary techniques and materials used in miniature art today.

To ensure the design aligns with the rules of traditional miniature art, the workshop will also delve into the unique way of seeing and interpreting that this art form embodies. This is an opportunity not only to create a work of art but also to deepen your understanding of the symbolic richness and craftsmanship of Turkish miniature art.
