The Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) hosted a delegation from the UK, which included members of the UK Parliament, business leaders, and local council members. The delegation visited Türkiye from May 28th to June 1st, 2024, with visits to Ankara and Istanbul.
The Institute continued its efforts to enhance collaboration between Turkey and other countries in various fields. The goal of the visit was to promote strategic partnerships and explore trade and investment opportunities.
During the delegation’s visit to Ankara, an event was held at the Institute’s historic building in Ulus, where the Head of YEE spoke. It was highlighted that the Institute operated in 66 countries with 88 centers, emphasising that its core mission was to establish connections between Türkiye and countries around the world.
The Head of YEE noted that the purpose of the UK delegation’s visit was to strengthen relations between the two countries, with discussions covering areas such as healthcare tourism, post-COVID-19 market challenges, and strategic partnerships between Türkiye and the UK.
It was also mentioned that the meetings in Türkiye were coordinated by the YEE London Office. The Head of YEE stated, “This way, we fulfilled our legal duty to create connections between Türkiye, the Turkish people, and the people and governments of the world. It was a productive meeting with concrete outcomes, greatly contributing to the development of our country’s relations, particularly with the UK. We fulfilled our responsibilities to the best of our abilities.”
