Our new course “Master the Art of Islamic Calligraphy: Hüsn-i Hat Icazet Programme” is now open for registration—take your skills to the next level! Running on select Saturdays between 26th April and 5th July 2025, this advanced 6-week programme offers dedicated students the opportunity to deepen their practice and begin their journey towards receiving an icazet (diploma of permission) under the guidance of master calligrapher Gulnaz Fatima Mahboob.

Tailored for those who have completed the Introduction to Calligraphy course and passed the tutor assessment, this course focuses on precision, discipline, and traditional Ottoman methods passed down through generations. Students will refine their technique, practice weekly meşk exercises, and potentially begin working on a second script (Sülüs) based on their progress. Please note, receiving an icazet requires long-term commitment and cannot be guaranteed by course completion alone.

This is a rare chance to train in an unbroken lineage going back to Şeyh Hamdullah and Hamid Aytaç, through to Hasan Çelebi Hoca—your instructor’s own master.
