Yunus Emre Institute London is excited to announce an upcoming UK tour of the Whirling Dervishes: Mevlevi Sema Ceremony, which will be performed by the Sufi Ceremonies Ensemble in Cambridge, Oxford, and London between the 12th – 14th February 2023.
This February, experience an authentic performance of a centuries-old ritual that unites the mind, the heart, and the body through the universal language of music and movement. Join us for the breath-taking UK tour of the symbolic and spiritual Whirling Dervish performance accompanied by traditional Turkish Sufi music by master musicians!
The UK tour of the Whirling Dervishes by Istanbul Sufi Ceremonies Ensemble will launch on the 12th of February at West Road Concert Hall, one of Cambridge’s premiere music venues and renowned for its superb acoustic qualities. The second stage of the tour will take place on the 13th of February at Sheldonian Theatre, an architectural jewel at the heart of Oxford and on the 14th of February, this spiritually fulfilling experience will come to an end with a final performance in London at EartH Theatre, a stylish and glorious multi-arts space!
