Thematic Summer Schools

Each year, Yunus Emre Institute organizes the International Summer Schools program, bringing together participants from various parts of the world to engage in courses held in different cities and universities across Türkiye. As Türkiye’s prominent cultural institution on the global stage, the Institute will host the Turkish Archaeology, Turkish Fashion, Turkish Cuisine, and Contemporary Turkish Art summer school programs from 14 to 31 July 2025 in Istanbul and several other cities throughout the country.

Turkish Archaeology Summer School
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Yunus Emre Institute conducts educational and cultural activities through its cultural centers and liaison offices around the world, while also supporting scientific research. As part of its mission to promote Türkiye’s cultural heritage, the Institute is organizing the Turkish Archaeology Summer School, which will take place from 17 July to 31 July 2025. The program will start in Çanakkale and continue through İzmir, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, and Ankara, concluding in Istanbul. A total of 15 international participants will be selected—graduate, or PhD students in the fields of archaeology, museology, anthropology, art history, or history, or professionals with a strong interest in Turkish archaeology and cultural heritage.

Turkish Fashion Summer School
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In this context, the Institute launched the Turkish Fashion Summer School to promote Turkish fashion more closely to the world. Academic seminars will be held over a two-week program. Topics will include Turkish motifs, the history of Turkish clothing, the importance of Turkish fabrics (especially woven ones), Ottoman palace textiles, and visits to workshops of leading Turkish fashion brands

Turkish Cuisine Summer School
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Turkish Cuisine Summer School, organized by Yunus Emre Institute, aims to
introduce the rich heritage of Turkish cuisine to the world. The program features renowned Turkish chefs and brings together international chefs to share the Turkish table and forge new friendships through gastronomy. The 15-day training program will provide on-site experiences with regional Turkish cuisines. Through practical workshops and under the guidance of expert chefs, participants will learn local recipes and culinary techniques. Academic seminars will also offer insights into the ancient history of Turkish cuisine.

Contemporary Turkish Art Summer School
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In this context, the Institute has launched the Contemporary Turkish Art Summer School to promote a deeper understanding of contemporary Turkish art. The Summer School aims to offer a multidisciplinary perspective on contemporary Turkish art, providing theoretical, practical, and experiential learning opportunities.
