Join us for Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London’s very own book club Turkish Bookshelf! During our monthly gatherings we will explore Turkish books that have been translated to English on a journey through Türkiye’s rich literary landscape. This month’s session will be all about Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali, a Turkish classic on love and longing. This book is sure to be a bittersweet first love gateway to Turkish literature. Sabahattin Ali was probably the most powerful and effective of the 20th century short story writers in Turkey.
To order a book you can do so using the following link: https://dauntbooks.co.uk/shop/books/madonna-in-a-fur-coat-2/

Our evening will commence at 6:30pm and continue until 8:30pm, and will take place on the first Friday of every month, paired with Turkish tea and biscuits.
Although it is preferred that you have read the book, our discussions will be accessible to everyone. With the help of our skilled moderator, we aim to provide a comfortable space for you all to unwind and relax at the end of the week.
We look forward to welcoming you to Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London for an evening of meaningful discussion.
