Development of Small Molecule Tools to Study Inflammasome Signaling
In this talk, Ada will discuss how inflammation plays a crucial role in how our bodies heal and protect themselves, but when it goes awry, it can lead to serious diseases. Ada will share her exciting research on inflammasomes—key players in the body’s inflammatory response—and explain how small molecule tools can help us better understand and control them. This work holds the potential to unlock new treatments for diseases like Alzheimer’s, sepsis, and arthritis.
Don’t miss the chance to learn more about this cutting-edge research and its potential to change the way we approach inflammatory diseases!
Ada H. Liebenau is finishing her PhD in Bioscience at the University of Oxford. Her research focus is on developing treatments for inflammatory disorders such as COVID-19, sepsis, Alzheimer’s, psoriasis, and arthritis. Ada did her undergraduate and master’s degree at University College London (UCL) in Chemistry, focusing on drug delivery to brain cancer. After graduating in 2020, she worked at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research on drug design for COVID-19. Ada’s current research straddles the fields of medicinal chemistry and the biology of inflammatory conditions. She is highly interdisciplinary working between the Chemistry Department and The Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.
Admission is FREE but registration is ESSENTIAL.
This talk forms part of the Young Scholar Seminar Series organised by Yunus Emre Institute London.
