Sema Yekeler Yurtseven is a distinguished illumination and miniature artist with over twenty years of experience. She completed a prestigious illumination programme initiated by the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Türkiye, earning top honours from the Topkapı Palace's education department. Sema obtained her master’s degree in illumination from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakfi University in 2014 and is currently pursuing a PhD at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her master’s thesis focused on the “Qur’an Manuscript written by Sheikh Hamdullah for Bayezit II in terms of Ornament.” She has furthered her studies at the Turkish Parliament’s Yıldız Şale Miniature Education Centre and has participated in numerous projects and exhibitions both in Türkiye and internationally. Sema designs modern Turkish motifs using various techniques on handmade papers sourced from Basel, Nepal, and India.
